Seattle Supersonics

by WAHOUSES

The Seattle Supersonics was a professional basketball team that played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1967 to 2008. They were based in Seattle, Washington, and played their home games at the KeyArena.

The Supersonics were one of the most successful teams in the NBA during the 1970s and 1990s, winning three conference championships and the NBA championship in 1979. The team featured many notable players such as Lenny Wilkens, Gary Payton, Shawn Kemp, Detlef Schrempf, Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis, and Kevin Durant. However, the team was controversially relocated to Oklahoma City in 2008 and became the Oklahoma City Thunder. The move was met with disappointment from many fans in Seattle who continue to hope for the return of an NBA team to the city.
