Legendary Point Guard Honored at Climate Pledge.

The Seattle Storm has announced its plans to pay tribute to Sue Bird's remarkable career by retiring her number 10 jersey and recognizing her as the greatest point guard in the franchise's history. On Sunday, June 11, at 3:00 pm PT, during the Storm's game against the Washington Mystics at Climate Pledge Arena, Bird will join Lauren Jackson as the second player to have her jersey number retired during a pre-game ceremony.

The Storm will also organize other activities to honor Bird, including fan activities and giveaways, which will be announced closer to the event.

Bird's WNBA career spanned 21 years, with her playing 19 seasons, the most of any player in WNBA history. She remains the WNBA's all-time leading assist leader, with 3,234 assists.

Bird's achievements are numerous. She won five Olympic gold medals, four WNBA championships, two NCAA Championships, and five EuroLeague titles. She also featured on the WNBA's milestone teams, including the All-Decade Team, Top 15 Players, Top 20@20, and W25 team, recognized as one of the 25 greatest and most influential players in league history.

Bird's contribution to the Seattle Storm is immeasurable. As the No. 1 overall pick in the 2002 WNBA draft, Bird played 21 out of the franchise's 23 seasons, scoring or assisting on 27.5% of every basket scored in Seattle Storm history, including the four seasons she didn't play. When only including the games she played in, Bird scored or assisted on 35.4% of all Storm baskets.

The Seattle Storm recognizes Bird's impact on the franchise and the WNBA and looks forward to celebrating her career on June 11.

THANK YOU, SUE!!!
