THE MORE YOU KNOW

A zoo is a facility where animals are kept for public display and education. Zoos can range from small, privately owned facilities to large, government-funded complexes. The primary purpose of a zoo is to provide a safe and healthy environment for the animals while also educating the public about different species and their habitats. Many zoos also participate in conservation efforts to protect endangered species and their natural habitats. Visitors can typically view animals in their enclosures, attend animal shows and demonstrations, and participate in educational programs and activities.
